Which Operating Systems Does CX-One Support?

CX-One 4.61 supports the following operating systems:

Microsoft Windows 7

CX-One 4.6 supports the following operating systems:

 

Windows 10 Professional and Enterprise Editions, 32 bit and 64 bit editions


Windows 8 Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate Editions, 32 bit and 64 bit editions


Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate Editions, 32 bit and 64 bit editions

Notes:
1) 'Home' editions of operating systems are not supported as OMRON products are intended for business use.
2) When installing on Windows 8 or newer, Some of the applications in CX-One require .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. If necessary, connect to the Internet and install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or add .NET Framework 3 component from your Control Panel
3) When installing on Windows 8, a Start Menu is not displayed on the Windows 8 desktop, so the CX-One applications cannot be started from the Start Menu. If you are using Windows 8, start the applications in CX-One from the Windows 8 Start Screen or use the Search bar.
4) The following restrictions apply to some application operations:

Application Restriction
CX-Programmer / CX-Integrator / NetworkConfigurator

Although you can install CPS files, EDS files, Expansion Modules, and Interface Modules, the virtual store function of the OS imposes the following restrictions
on the use of the software after installation. These restrictions will not exist if application data is installed using Run as Administrator.
• If another user logs in, the applications data will need to be installed again.
• The CPS files will not be automatically updated.

CX-Designer / NV-Designer

If you use a new font (e.g., Meiryo) the font size on labels may be bigger and the text may protrude from the components if the project is transferred from CX-Designer running on Windows XP or an earlier OS to the NS/NSJ

CX-Server Restrictions are imposed on the following functions.
• The driver cannot be changed from the default setting if Controller Link is set as the network type in the Change PLC dialog box.
• Online connections will not be possible through Controller Link Boards or SYSMAC LINK Boards.
• Online connections using FinsGateway as the network type will not be possible from the CX-Programmer or CX-Integrator.
• Communications will not be possible though a CS1 Board and PCI bus.

CX-One 4.5 supports the following operating systems:

  • Windows 10 Professional and Enterprise Editions (*), 32 bit and 64 bit editions
  • Windows 8 Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate Editions (*), 32 bit and 64 bit editions

Application Restriction
CX-Programmer

Cannot guarantee the operation of editing and transferring parameters of SPU unit(CJ1W-SPU0*, CS1W-CPU0*) on Windows 64bit so use it on Windows32 bit only.
Cannot start up Program Copy utility from Windows start menu on Windows Vista 64 bit English version so select “ProgCopy.exe” from Windows explorer. Click right mouse button to open context menu. Select “Run as administrator” from the menu to start up the utility.
Cannot install the utilities: CXP_V1_File_Export or SSS_File_Export_for_C_Series_PLC. Install them on Windows 32 bit only.
May not be able to execute [File] – [Install CPS] from the IO table menu. Right-click the application name. Select Run as administrator form the menu. Start up the CX-Programmer.

CX-Simulator Cannot start up CX-Simulator from Windows start menu on Windows 64bit. Therefore cannot use the following functions:
- After Starting up CX-Simulator, connect to it from CX-Programmer.
- Serial communication to PT etc.
- Network communication by using Network communication instructions
- Measures I/O refresh time by registering I/O unit.
- Displays the contents of messages sent by serial communication instructions on the computer screen.
- Stores Communication log of FINS commands sent/received by Virtual PLC
CX-Designer

If a new Windows Vista or Windows 7 font (e.g. Meiryo) is used in a project, the font size on labels may be bigger and protrude from the components if the project is transferred from CX-Designer running on a Windows XP or earlier OS to the NS/NSJ.
You must use 'Standard Font Sizes" (i.e. 96 DPI) to operate correctly
Cannot guarantee the operation of the following utilities on Windows 64bit: ProjectMergeTool, RecoverUpdate. Use them on Windows 32bit.

CX-Integrator May not be able to execute the following functions properly: Menu - [Tool ] - [CPS file] - [Install], Menu - [Tool] - [EDS file] - [Install]. Right-click the application name. Select Run as administrator form the menu. Start up the CX-Integrator.
Network Configurator For EIP May not be able to execute the following functions properly: Menu - [EDS File] - [Install], Menu - [Option] - [Install Plug-in Module], Menu - [Option] - [Install Interface Module]. Right-click the application name. Select Run as administrator form the menu. Start up the Network Configurator.
CX-Configurator FDT Cannot Launch on 64 Bit Windows Vista. Use it on Windows7 64bit or Windows 32 bit instead.
CX-Net Network
Configuration Tool
Cannot start up and show the help file (hlp) on CX-Net, or from the Data Link Component or PLC Routing Table that can be started up by CX-Net. Right-click the application name. Select Run as administrator from
the menu. Start up the CX-Net. Alternatively, on the Start menu, select the program [FinsGateway] - [Service Manager]. Start up the FinsGateway directly.
CX-Process When File − Active Serial Port Driver is selected, a message stating that FinsGateway initialization failed may be displayed and the serial driver may not be initialized.
CX-Motion Pro Cannot install on Windows 64 bit. Install it on Windows 32 bit instead.
CX-Sensor Cannot Launch on 64 Bit Windows Vista. Use it on Windows7 64bit or Windows 32 bit instead.

CX-One 4.0 supports the following operating systems:

  • Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate Editions 32 bit versions (*)
