Configuring older PLCs for the Promi SD202/SD205 Serial to Bluetooth adapter IntroductionThe Omron Promi Bluetooth adapters are designed and documented to work easily with the standard CS, CJ and CP family PLCs. It is possible however to also use these adapters with older PLCs with a little configuration (and external power supplies in some cases). This Tutorial shows how to properly connect, power and configure Omron's Promi Bluetooth adapters to a variety of older Omron PLCs.
Providing Power to the Promi SD-OAMost Omron PLC’s provide a power source via the communications port. In the case of others, an external 5 volt DC supply will be required to give power to the Promi-SD-OA via the DC power cable provided:
