Glossary


S8M
With the S8M your machine will be directly UL Class 2 compliant, maximum tripping current is 3,8A per channel (adjustable). This unit controls up to 4 circuits. On top of this you will get startup / shutdown –sequence control, display and alarm functions, like voltage, output current, runtime, and over temperature and external reset. These functions can be set by using the front buttons or with the free support tool software. These settings can be protected. 4 circuit protection up-to 4A per channel UL Class 2 (max. 3,8A) Emergency stop by external signal Optimize use of available power through Start-up sequence Maintenance Control
S8T-DCBU-01
S8TS DC back-up to prevent 24 VDC outages due to power failures The S8T-DCBU-01 battery backup block supplies 24 VDC for a fixed period of time during AC input outages to considerably improve system reliability. S8T-DCBU-02
Prevents equipment stoppage, data loss and other problems resulting from momentary power failures. One S8TS-DCBU-02 buffer block provides a back-up time of 500 ms at an output current of 2.5 A. S8T-DCBU-02

S8VM
All models have the same height of only 84.5 mm. These ranges cover up-to 1,500 W. The output voltages are 5, 12, 15 or 24VDC. In this series we got standard types and versions with two alarms up-to 150 W models: one for short dip in the 24VDC supply, second one when the voltage gradually drops in time. The models form 300 W / 600 W / 1,500 W are equipped with an overload alarm function. S8VS
The S8VS is our standard industrial DIN-rail mounted power supply. It’s build to last for ever. The compact S8VS is built in a strong metal case (except the 60 W version) providing a very good dimension vs. output power ratio to optimize panel space usage. The range covers 4 models with wattage of 60, 120, 240 and 480 at 24 VDC. The range withstands high vibration and shocks. The S8VS are fan-less power supplies. S8VS micro
S8VS micro is our range for small power use. It is available in 15 W and 30 W in the same small 22.5 mm housing. In these versions we are using a new technology which improve the heat dissipation very efficient, giving more power output in this slim housing, 30 W. Due to this technology you can mount the S8VS micro in any position without de-rating. The S8VS micro is available in three different output voltages 5, 12 and 24 VDC. S8VS-A
If you use a power supply under heavy circumstances like high temperature for example it will be very difficult to estimate the life time of the power supply. With our S8VS-A power supply this will be solved due to our unique measurement of the condition of the capacitors. An output will warn you 0.5 year before estimate shut-down of the power supply. S8VS-B
With our power supply with run time you can set-up a warning for additional maintenance. Not, only for the power supply, but as well for other sensitive parts in your machine/ application. To have this feature normally you need to buy and connect a separate time counter or other controller. The time setting is 1 Kh per step. S8VT
To make the compact power supply range complete we have our 3-phase S8VT series, which give you the best power-to-footprint ratio. The range exists of 4 models with wattage of 120, 240 480 and 960 W all at 24 VDC. The version is build in a very robust metal housing and all models are din-rail mounting. Servo Systems
A servo drive is a special electric amplifier used to power electric servo motors. It monitors feedback signals from the motor and continually adjusts for deviation from expected behavior.
SGLGW
The GW linear servo motor’s moving coil has no iron content and is made of resin-moulded motor windings. SHL

Sigma II

SmartSlice
Omron's SmartSlice I/O system is compact, intelligent and easy. When used with Omron's CS1/CJ1 DeviceNet master units it is plug-and-work, no configuration tool is required. By using built-in functions such as pre-scaling, totalising, differentiation and alarming in analog I/O units, PLC programming can be minimised. Preventive maintenance data can be accessed using CX-Integrator software, standard PLC function blocks or NS-series Smart Active Parts.
SmartStep
SmartStep is designed and engineered to provide you with an easy way to migrate from steppers to servos in minutes. It accepts pulse-train input, can be configured quickly via simple dip switches and has an on-line auto-tuning function. Thus, the SmartStep offers all the simplicity and cost-effectiveness of a stepper with the added advantages of the servo drive capability.
Solid State Relays
A solid state relay (SSR) is an electronic switch, which, unlike an electromechanical relay, contains no moving parts. The types of SSR are photo-coupled SSR, transformer-coupled SSR, and hybrid SSR.
SRT2

SRT2-C
