E5ZN As SAP In NS-Panel

Introduction
This tutorial is intended as a supplement to the original manuals for the products. Therefore, use it as a means to familiarise yourself with the product, and not as guide to complete installation. The information in the tutorial is taken from the manual (s):
  • H1113 E5ZN Operation Manual
  • TC_E5ZN_revA Smart Active Part
  • V085 NS-Series Host Connection Manual
Product Information

SAP for E5ZN is one of many graphical objects that can be pasted into screens in NS. This simplifies both communication and artwork. This component can communicate with up to 16 E5ZN on RS485 directly from NS.

Operator panel has RS232 as standard. For shorter distances (max 50m) CJ1W-CIF11 can be used which converts from RS232 to RS485.

Figures show CJ1W-CIF11

ON switch set 1-3. 4 switch is OFF. ON switch set 5-6.

CJ1W SDA-connected to (24) A-on regulator. SDB + connects to the (23) B + on the slider. Remember 100-125Ω end resistance on the control side.

Select the node address and baud rate (1 = 9600) with the dials in front of the control slide.

NS-Designer

  • Enable serial port B in the Settings - System Settings - Comm-All - Serial port B (Temperature Controller)
  • Add E5ZN under Settings - Register Host - Host type
  • Create a new page in addition to the main NS Designer and LIB. Choose a suitable component from the library for E5ZN:

    \ SmartActiveParts_E \ Temperature Controller \ E5ZN \ NS_Direct.

  • Place the object on the screen and double-click. Add the serial port (SERIALB) and node address to the control slide. When using this SMART Active Part be sure to select also Setting - System Settings in the main menu bar. Press System Memory List on the Initial Tab page and select BASICSfor the $ SB. Do not use this SMART Active Part on the initial screen. Use system version 5 or higher.

To write to the regulators CMW (Enable Comm. Writing) must be activated. The buttons for this are under \ _Basic.

In order to initialize the regulators directly from NS, one must also add the button Move to Setting Area1. It is also under \ _Basic. This button stops the valve, and one can access the parameters of signal type, control type, alarm type, etc. These are parameters that are usually set only once. Finally, return to the starting point by using the Software Reset.
