Introduction
This article is intended to explain what parameters can be configured for the NX EtherCAT Coupler unit and how to download the parameters to the coupler. By default the parameters for the NX-ECC and I/O Units are not transferred. This may result in strange behavior of the NX-ECC Unit such as a synchronization error unless the parameters are correctly set and downloaded into the designated NX-ECC Unit(s). |

Configuring NX-ECC Parameters
The NX-ECC has the following parameters:
-
Preventing Incorrect Operation Setting / USB Connection Prohibition Setting
Set whether to permit or prohibit the Coupler Unit connection to Sysmac Studio via USB.
-
Fail-soft Operation Setting / Fail-soft Operation Setting
Set to enable or disable the Fail-soft Operation.

Note: Restart of the NX-ECC is required to apply the setting. |
-
Communications Error Setting / Consecutive Communications Error Detection Count
Number of consecutive communications errors to detect Communications Synchronization Error. Communications Synchronization Error occurs when the number of consecutive communications errors exceed this setting.
Number of consecutive communications errors to detect Communications Synchronizations Error = set value + 1 [times].

Note: Restart of the NX-ECC is required to apply the setting. |
-
Sync Not Received Timeout Setting / Sync Error Monitoring Time
Time until Synchronization Interruption Error is detected. Synchronization Interruption Error occurs if the first SYNC0 signal input does not turn ON within the set time after the EtherCAT Coupler Unit enters the Safe-Operational state.

Downloading NX-ECC and I/O Units Parameters
The default download options are set as shown below.
By default the Slave Terminal Unit operation settings and NX Unit application data are not transferred. In order to download the settings and application data please uncheck the third option box as shown below.
