Notepad message when launching CX Programmer or CX designer

During the installation we receive the warning that some files may be updated with older versions .
After installation of CX One V1.1 upgrade disc on the laptop, when starting either CX Programmer or CX Designer, we get a notepad message which says..........Filename Desktop.ini

                   [DocShellClassInfo]
                   LocalizeResourceName = @%SystemRoute%/System32/Shell32.dll,-21787.

If we cancel this message we can then go into either of the programs and both work perfectly.

Solution :

This is a Windows XP problem and Microsoft opens the information to avoid it

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330132/EN-US/

Once we install CX-One update, then Destop.ini was enabled incorrectly, therefore, to open the file Notepad was invoked.
To avoid it, please disable the Destop.ini file as follows which is written in the above URL.

Method : Use the System Configuration Utility (Msconfig.exe) to disable the Startup Item

  • Click Start, and then click Run.
  • In the Open box, type msconfig, and then click OK.
  • Click the Startup tab.
  • Click to clear the check box beside any desktop entries in the Startup Item column that are listed as Common Startup in the Location column, and are also located in any of the following locations (as indicated in the Command column):

    • drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
    • drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
    • drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu

  • Click OK to quit the System Configuration Utility.
  • Restart your computer and verify that the issue is resolved.
