Introduction
Providing Power to the Promi SD-OA
Most Omron PLC’s provide a power source via the communications port. In the case of others, an external 5 volt DC supply will be required to give power to the Promi-SD-OA via the DC power cable provided:

Configuring Promi adapter
Using the Promi configuration tool, set up the device as shown:
Configuring CPM1A
Promi connected to CPM1A via a CPM1-CIF01 interface adapter (switch set to Hostlink), 5vdc power provided by an external PSU:
Configuring CPM2A using hostlink port
Promi connected directly to CPM2B hostlink port (yellow switch set to OFF), 5vdc power is provided by the port. Port switch set to OFF. Yellow port switch set to OFF:
Configuring CPM2A using peripheral port
Promi connected to CPM2A via a CPM1-CIF01 interface adapter (switch set to Hostlink), 5vdc power provided by an external PSU. Yellow port switch set to OFF:

Promi connected directly to CPM2B hostlink port, 5vdc power is provided by the port:
Configuring CPM2C using CN118
Promi connected directly to the peripheral port with a CS1W-CN118 cable, 5vdc power provided by the port:

Promi connected via CPM2C-CIF01-V1 (SW1 ON), to the peripheral port with a CS1W-CN118 cable, 5vdc power provided by the port:

Promi connected via CPM2C-CIF01-V1 (SW1 ON), to the hostlink port, 5vdc power provided by the port:
Configuring CQM1 for hostlink port
Promi connected directly to the RS232C hostlink port, 5vdc power provided by an external PSU.
Configuring CQM1 for peripheral port
Promi connected via CPM1-CIF01 interface adapter (switch set to Hostlink), to the peripheral port, 5vdc power provided by an external PSU:
